Put the People's Voice in people's hands
The Webby Awards' People's Voice is the award decided by the public — so for its 20th anniversary we wanted to celebrate it with something the public could literally use their voices to make.
As Executive Producer I partnered with Ogilvy NY to turn that idea into a playful, shareable interactive tool.
A typeface generated by your voice
TypeVoice is a fontshop powered by sound: an algorithm reads your pitch, volume and timing and generates a custom typeface in real time. Built in vanilla ES6 with GSAP driving two independent animation timelines — one axis for pitch, one for volume — the whole experience weighs just 1.5MB.
Visitors could share animated GIFs of their font or download the full vector alphabet to use in their own design work.
